Communications Manager
Alex leads communications at Mulago. He’s spent the past eight years helping social entrepreneurs tell their stories in ways that stick. He manages the foundation’s communications strategy and coaches fellows to sharpen complex models into simple, powerful stories that moves audiences, and makes them get it.
His path to comms was anything but linear: teaching in The Gambia with the Peace Corps, studying development at UC Berkeley, a stint in venture capital, and a lot of other jobs in between. That mix taught him how to translate between worlds—from policy, to tech, to philanthropy.
When he’s not cutting fat from some writing, you’ll find him reading a novel or chasing a soccer ball around an Oakland park.
