Grant has just begun his Rainer Fellowship. The Fellowship is a one-year program that focuses on design for impact and strategy for scale. It consists of an intensive week-long retreat, structured work over the year, and another week-long retreat at the end. We'll add more detail on Grant's solution towards the end of his year with us.
Grant has spent his career building innovation teams inside big institutions—from INGOs to multilateral agencies—to design, test, and scale solutions in tough places. He’s worked across Africa on everything from maternal health to de-mining, and once embedded with the Congolese military to understand patterns of abuse. Most recently, he led global innovation at the International Rescue Committee. While at IRC he hosted a fabulous podcast with interviews with the leading policy makers and innovators in the humanitarian space. He got his PhD in political economy from Columbia and has a rare mix of statistical rigor alongside operational grit.
