Save lives in Kenya.
Lwala trains and equips community members to work as paid, professional health workers and integrates them into government health systems. These lay health workers extend the reach of clinics into the community—even to the doorstep—of families who need care. They proactively monitor pregnant women and seek out sick kids, deliver doorstep care, and get patients to clinics when they need it most. Their special sauce is their unique engagement of traditional midwives in support of modern care and safe deliveries.
Strong government health systems that deliver fast, effective care to everybody.
Like several other organizations in the Mulago portfolio, Lwala is on the cutting edge of a revolution in community health care. They have built one of the strongest examples of fully integrated community-led primary healthcare. Their blend of service delivery, policy influence, and technical support is rare. Kenya’s devolved system makes scaling complex, but momentum is strong with national political will, new counties onboard, and a highly capable team executing on both delivery and advocacy.
This is just a snapshot of what we know about the organization. If you're an investor or funder that might send some serious dough their way, we're always delighted to share more. Reach out and we'll connect you with the right person on our team.
