Boost farmer incomes.
Digital Green had a huge hit with farmer-to-farmer advice videos. Now they’ve built an AI platform, Farmer.Chat, which provides a bundle of digital services for smallholders: a chatbot plus high-quality localized advice, and access to information about inputs and markets. They deliver it both direct-to-farmers in countries where phones are widely available (India and Kenya), and in-person through existing field agents. Their tech makes previously inaccessible information (like pest identification and control) available in multiple languages through both voice and text.
Smallholder farmers in South Asia and Africa have direct access to high-quality, localized agricultural advice, inputs, and markets—raising incomes, resilience, and food security.
Digital Green is a tech leader in digital ag advisory— like their partnership with OpenAI. Their platform Farmer.Chat opens vast new potential, but they need to prove consistent, consequential impact on farmer incomes. The move from implementer to tech platform is inherently more scalable, and raises important questions on their long-term role and who pays for delivery at massive scale.
