Get African kids ready for school.
Ubongo delivers supplemental learning to kids through TV, radio, online, and print—meeting them where they are. Their locally relevant “edutainment” focuses on school readiness for African kids aged 3–14. Think Sesame Street, tailored for Africa and delivered across multiple channels.
Ubongo's shows are watched by kids across Africa—paid for by government—and boost their learning.
Ubongo is at the cusp of scaling, with their shows reaching nearly 50M unique monthly viewers across 22 countries in 15 languages. Their new strategy will take them deeper in big markets like the DRC and Ethiopia and redirect their resources on 12 languages. They have many rigorous evaluations that show modest gains in literacy and numeracy at a very low cost per kid.
