How It Works
Muso is all about speed! They design health systems that get fast treatment to the people who need it through trained Community Health Workers (CHWs). These CHWs go door-to-door to proactively detect sick kids early: then those kids get immediate, rapid care at the house or are taken straight to a clinic where Muso pays any fees required for care. They obesss over removing barriers that delay care.

Why We're In
Muso’s big innovation was to design a community health system with obsessive focus on speed-to-treatment to prevent deaths, especially for pregnany moms and sick kids. Their systematic active case-finding and “doorstep care” influenced many organizations and could provide a huge boost to government community health systems. In a rigorous trial in Mali their approach dropped child mortality by an astonishing 90%. More recently, a rigourours study in an area of Mali where regional war broke out showed one of largest, fastest drops in child mortality ever document in a conflict zone: child deaths plummeted by ~63%. They're buildign on success in Mali to partner with the government of Côte d’Ivoire to transform its health system serving 26M people.
