Better health outcomes in Africa.
Development Media International (DMI) produces intensive radio, TV, and mobile campaigns to promote behaviors critical to child survival (e.g., seeking care for fevers, diarrhea) and improved health (e.g., family planning). Their special sauce is they create content that audiences actually enjoy, and then broadcast it with enough frequency to change entrenched behaviors.
African governments consistently deliver media campaigns that lead to better health outcomes.
DMI has one of the cheapest and most scalable models to improve health outcomes in Africa. They're obsessed with continuously improving their evidence-based content that's sticky with audiences and has huge saturation in Africa. It's also cheap, simple, and can only accelerate if governments take on the burden of paying for and implementing the model.
